Prof. (Dr.) Gopa Nayak is an educationist with experience in researching, teaching and training English communication skills to learners in India, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. She has a DPhil and Masters in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the Department of Education, University of Oxford, UK. Her first Master’s degree was in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics. She has an MA in English Language Teaching from the Hong Polytechnic University. Her research interests include professional communication in English and teaching pedagogy for ESL/EFL learners among others.
Prof. (Dr.) Jagdish Batra, Professor of English, Director, English Literary Society and Addl. Director, Global Languages Centre joined JGU in 2012 as the Founding Head of English Language Centre. Prior to it, he had worked as Head of P.G. Dept. of English, and Principal in different colleges. He has more than 30 years of teaching experience and has guided around 50 research scholars. Indian English fiction and Culture Studies are the areas of his special interest on which he has presented papers in several international conferences in Europe and South East Asia apart from delivering keynote lectures and presiding over sessions. He is the Convener of seven annual JGU International Literary Conferences. He is on the editorial boards of three literary journals and on the research panels of many universities. A former Rotary International GSE scholar to USA, Dr Batra has published some 60 research papers and ten books including T.S. Eliot: A Deconstructive Reading; Rohinton Mistry: Identity, Values & Other Sociological Concerns; 21st Century Indian Novel in English: Emerging Issues and Challenges; A New Approach to Literary Theory and Criticism; Postcolonial Literature Today; and Indian English Fiction (2001-2020): History and Reflections. Prof. Raghavan joined the Tamil Nadu Educational Service as Assistant Professor of English at Queen Mary’s College, Chennai in 1970.Later she taught at the Meenakshi College for Women at Madurai and Quaid-E-Millath College, Chennai. She retired as Head of the Department of English, Presidency College, Chennai in 2001.
Prof.Raghavan’s Ph.D. thesis was on the philosophy of Robert Frost, the eminent American Poet. The interdisciplinary nature of her research gave her insights into both Indian and American Philosophy. Her research took her to Amherst, Massachusetts and Temple University, Philadelphia. She was part of the faculty of the visiting Colgate University Study Group in India. Her areas of interest include poetry, drama and Indian writing in English.
Dr. Shruti Jain has received her PhD from the Centre of German Studies, School of Languages, Literature and Cultural Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her areas of interest are “Nietzsche and India”. Her areas of interest are Literature and Cultural Studies focussing on Indo-German Encounters and German Language Teaching. As a DAAD scholarship holder, she visited the University of Humboldt in Berlin, Germany. She is a qualified teacher of German as a Foreign Langauge, trained at the Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune and the Goethe Institut in Munich and in Berlin. She has a long past experience of having worked as a German language teacher at the Max Mueller Bhavan, Delhi and after that at her own language institute, German Language Circle, Rohini, New Delhi. She has also worked as a guest lecturer at the Jawaharlal Nehru University and taught graduate and postgraduate students. She has published in the field of Teaching German as a Foreign Language and also conducts workshops for teachers of German Language.
Dr. Fatemeh Rajabi did her BA at Islamic Azad university Kerman branch (Iran), MA at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Deemed university in Pune, Maharashtra, and PhD at Aligarh Muslim University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Her areas of research specialization are American Postmodernism and Black feminism, and currently her attention has been turned more specifically to the problems concerning “authorship” as a problem of literary intention. The question of Intentionality in Literary works and linguistic. After more than a decade of studying English Literature at IAU, BVP, and AMU Universities of Iran and India ,Dr. Fatemeh Rajabi has recently joined Business School at O.P Jindal Global University where she is teaching and doing research on the Business English, Greek Mythology and the philosophy of language, literature and culture. She is also doing a Post-doctoral Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is working on her novel: “Wowmam in the Naked Apes Island”, and research works on the Critical Analysis of Affinity between Tagore’s syncretism and Persian Sufi Tradition beside of the Return of Author: The Question of Intentionality in Literary Works. She has published a number of articles in reputed refereed international journals, and has presented research papers in a great number of major conferences in India and abroad.
Prof. Mohammad Jilani is a Assistant Professor & Assistant Director (Spanish), Global Languages Center. He teaches Spanish language and Culture. He holds B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. from University of Delhi. He has done Master in Spanish language teaching and culture and Curso de Lengua y Cultura Españolas: Metodología y Didáctica from University of Granada, Spain. He has more than 8 years’ experience of teaching, research and consulting in his areas of specialization. He is also a Visiting professor at Centro de Lenguas Modernas, University of Spain. He has taught Spanish language and Culture at Centro de Lenguas Modernas, University of Granada, Spain, the University of Delhi and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth University, Delhi. He was the advisory board member at Academy of Foreign Language, Magadh University, Bodhgaya, Bihar. His research interests includes Intercultural Competency and use of technology in Spanish Language Teaching. He has participated in International conference and published several research papers. He organizes immersion trips to Spain during summer and winter breaks and cultural events such as Salsa and Tango workshops for students at JGU.
Prof. Shilpa Gupta is in charge of French language at O. P. Jindal Global University teaching different levels of French to the students from the domain of law, management and international affairs.
She has a Masters in French Literature and Masters in Science (Textile Technology) both from Delhi University. She has a Diplôme de Langue from Alliance Française de Delhi and received scholarships from French embassy to do trainings in the field of FLE (Foreign Language teaching) in France at CLA, Centre de Linguistique Appliqué, Grenoble and at Université Franche Comté, Besançon.
She was earlier associated with other prestigious universities of India like University of Delhi and Bharti Vidyapeeth University, Pune. She has nearly 14 years of experience in French teaching.
Dr. Lovey Srivastava is Assistant Professor and Assistant Director at Centre for Language at JGU. She was Erasmus Mundus Scholar at Katolieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium from where she completed her Masters in Iberian and Iberoamerican Studies. She has been granted international fellowships and awards from Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional, Spain; European Union; & Instituto Cervantes, Spain. She has also received Indira Gandhi Post-Graduate scholarship and Junior Research Fellowship from UGC, New Delhi.
She is conversant in three languages, Spanish, Italian & Portuguese besides English and her mother tongue, Hindi. She has worked as interpreter for various Ministries and International Organizations.
Her research interests are Visual Engagements for Language Acquisition; Modern Evaluation Methodologies; Language Learning in Indian Classrooms; Comparative linguistics & literature; Indian, Spanish and Latin American Popular Culture and Cinema.
Dr. Suman Rani received her Ph.D. in English Language Education from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad in November 2016. The focus of her thesis was on improving Academic writing using corpus and genre. She experimented with two major domains of study that is corpus and genre to see their usefulness for L2 learners in improving Academic writing. She also received her M.Phil. in English Language Education from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad in 2011. In her M.Phil. dissertation, she explored the possibilities of using corpora to improve vocabulary of L2 learners. In 2009, she received a B.ed English degree. She completed her M.A. English and B.A. from Guru Nanak Dev University and Panjab University respectively with a special focus on English Language, Linguistics and literature. She was awarded a TESOL certificate by the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. She has worked in the department of non-formal course at the English and Foreign Languages University and in the Language Centre of Hyderabad Central University as a guest faculty. She was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Notre Dame, The USA from 2015-16. Her areas of interest are teaching and learning of academic writing, Genre studies to teach academic writing, use of corpora in L2 language learning, and use of ICT to teach English to L2 learners.
PhD in Hispanic Studies from the Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of Delhi, India.
Has over eight years of teaching different levels of Spanish as foreign language at University level, with wide experience in teaching Spanish to undergraduates, sound knowledge of Spanish language and culture and familiarity with Spanish language instructional methodologies and approaches. Her research focuses on the contemporary Latin American literature and the queer politics. She has taught Spanish at the University of Delhi. And has been presented her research work in international conferences in Germany and across India. Her academic interest falls mostly in the area of Latin American literature and culture, Indian and Hispanic Trans literature and Queer Studies.
Dr. Navreeti Sharma has received her MPhil and PhD in Francophone studies from the University of Delhi. She had been awarded scholarships under the DU-Montpellier 3 student exchange program, and went to France for her documentation and studies.
Her area of specialization is Algerian Francophone Literature from colonialism to contemporary time, women writing, subaltern studies, autobiography and cultural studies.
Dr. Navreeti has also attended various conferences and workshops in India and France, and have been the speaker in the same, as part of paper presentation. She has been teaching French in the University of Delhi and in various prestigious Institutes for the past 14 years.
She has also done interpretation during an international program and has been part of ad hoc selection committee for the selection of eligible French teachers for some of the prestigious schools.
She has also published various articles in the field of Francophone studies.
Deepika is doing her Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of Delhi, India. Her research focusses on Latin American popular culture. She has also done her M. Phil and Masters from University of Delhi. She has over seven years of experience in teaching Spanish language and culture to undergraduates at University of Delhi. She has presented her research work in international conferences in Berlin and in Delhi.
She was awarded the University gold medal for being the best candidate in B.A. (Hons.) & M.A.
examination in Hispanic Studies. In 2011, she also qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship grant of UGC. She was the recipient of a research scholarship from International Research Training Group (IRTG) “Between Spaces” of the FU-Berlin in 2013.
She believes that foreign language classroom is a unique space where students are provided with practical language skills across a range of registers for use in real situations.

Mehak is a prolific Spanish speaker with experience in the field of training and teaching and has taught a diverse array of students in India. Having worked with Inlingua, an international school of languages, she advocates new age modern teaching methodologies and her classroom teaching practice is generally based upon communicative & play-way techniques. She has also conducted various workshops on teaching Communicative Spanish to new inductees. She holds an International Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE), level B1, affiliated by the Embassy of Spain & conducted by Instituto Cervantes, where she studied Spanish for three years. She also holds an International Diploma in French as a Foreign Language (DELF), level A2, affiliated by the French Embassy & conducted by Alliance Francaise. She holds a degree of Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University.
